The artist Wang Peili was born in E Xian, Shandong Province. Peili has been tremendously attracted to the visual arts since he was a young boy. Whenever he encountered an artist, he would always attempt to learn from the artist theories and skills.
Around the age of 20, Peili began attending Liaocheng University for painting. During this time, he met friends of similar interests in art and literature, gained much new experiences and studied diligently. Peili received his BA and taught at Liangshan High School in Shandong Province. In 2005, he was admitted into the master’s program at Xinjiang Normal University. Meanwhile, he visited Kashi, Loulan, Kezier, Dunhuang, and other renowned places around Xinjiang Province. However, his study was met with financial difficulties, he was then forced to leave school, and returned to farm-work in the countryside in west Shandong.
In 2006, Peili was able to make a second attempt at a master’s degree in fine art, this time at Capital Normal University. Within a year of being in Beijing, he travelled frequently, and created a number of paintings.
